The entrance to Nancy Forrester's Secret Garden
is at the end of Free School Lane

The Secret Garden is right in the heart of the
historic district know as 'old town".
It is not visible from the street because it is
inside the middle of a city block.
A small lane called Free School Lane leads
to the entrance.

Free School Lane is perpendicular to
Simonton Street midway off of the 500 block
on the northeast side of the street.

Free School Lane has a metal street sign on
a pole. Sometimes it is obscured by leafy
tree limbs. A large concrete utility pole next
to the lane is painted white at the bottom.
Free School Lane is stenciled in black letters
vertically on this structure.

The lane is flanked on Simonton Street by
the Marquesa Hotel to the left and Paradise
Realty to the right.
The entrance to the lane is directly across
the street from the Heron House a B&B

Simonton Street runs parallel to Duval Street
Key West's main Street. It is one block over
on the northeast side.

RAINFOREST GARDEN

Just inside the gate magic begins for couples
who delight in nature

A surprising rainforest exits with lacy
tree fern fronds and lush giant
elephant ears.
Hundreds of Palms, the prince of plants,
add shape and texture to
every shade of green.

Cool shade and fresh oxygen
are provided by towering
heirloom centurion fruit trees

Their are no bricks or paver's covering the
earth which kills soil microbes. The paths
and garden rooms are mulched with cypress.
